Fun at the gym

Can't help but have a big smile on my face after being at the gym.
Every country I've moved too I've ended up meeting some of the most awesome people at the gym.
Pilates in Padova
Carlson Gracie in Maple Ridge
And now puls Kettlebells in Oppdal

Such a fun gang to train with

Was looking at people today while we were doing out HIIT training, people are running, tired as all hell after a class, and running still with big smiles! Smiles people! It is contagious.
All different people, different age groups, different bodies, but all together. Cheering each other on. Working on getting better and stronger.
It is so much fun
I love it!

Who is who
Does not matter! We are all on the same team!

What did we do?

Tonight my sister and I decided to do some training up in my training room in the cabin.
As silly sisters we are it ended up in a little "photoshoot"
Need to do a little bit of editing on them but will post some here later.
Fun stuff

Choosing my sugar, know where it is?

Do you know when yo are eating sugar? Did you know that most sandwich meats has sugar? It won't actually say sugar, it will say fructose or dextrose or some other name for sugar.
In norwegian we say "Kjœrt barn har mange navn" A loved child has many names... does not make the same sense in english, but I hope you get the picture.

I am not 100% of sugar, but I also like to choose to have sugar when I want to. I don't like eating meat and thinking..
- oh I'm eating healthy, but no!!
Sugar is hidden in so many foods. Pretty much all processed food had some form of sugar in it. Making us addicted. And craving more of their food. It's all about the money.
If I want to have chocolate ( rarely under 86%, but it happens. I do like Lindt chili ) at least I am well aware that I am eating sugar and I am making the choice to do it. I am not letting the food industry fool me into believing I am eating a healthy, "home cooked" meal. Full of sugar and starches.
When I buy food now I read all labels. Or let's say I used to real all labels, now for most of the time I know what is in everything.
Making tacos is one example. Make your own spice mix, it really does take no effort what so ever. When you buy the prepared spice mix...well you get the picture...SUGAR!!
Why do I need sugar on my taco meat?
So again I prefer to choose when to eat my sugar.
Meat NO SUGAR
Veggies NO added sugar
Fruit well then I make the choice to eat natural sugar coming from the fruit, not sugar made from fruit. Where you get a lot more then what is in the one fruit I eat
For most of the time I stay away from sugar all together as it makes me itchy all over.

But people look at the label when you shop.

Here are some of the things you might find on your label

  • sucrose
  • fructose
  • glucose
  • dextrose
  • galactose
  • lactose
  • maltose
  • invert sugar
  • raw sugar
  • turbinado sugar
  • brown sugar
  • confectioner's sugar
  • granulated sugar
  • corn syrup
  • high-fructose corn syrup

for more names if you want.

MAKE THE CHOICE FOR YOUR SELF DONT LET THE FOOD INDUSTRY DESIDE FOR YOU.

Getting some fresh air

Well after a few days of crazy weather and little outside time, I had to figure something out.
Today it's totally spring outside, snow is melting you can feel the sun is warming.
But it is super slippery and icy, or deep wet snow, so hard to go for walks with the baby, specially a baby that not really enjoy is stroller very much.
So put the exersauser outside on the deck for a little while to give the kid some air and vitamin D

Tina and I are doing some food preps tonight too, but that will be for a later blog :)

Eric is off for his two day course in Oslo. Pretty exiting stuff happening there too. Hope he nails it.

How do you sleep? How to sleep better?

Sleep....
What there to say about sleep.
Hard to get?
Interrupted?
Not enough??

Well these are a few of the things I can say about sleep.
As lone as I can remember I have not been a good sleeper...
I remember being very little like 8-10 years old and just laying there and staring at the wall or letting my brain just go into high gear. Thinking about everything and nothing

So this is something I've resently started to work on. Slowly.
After starting magnesium as my first supplement a fee years ago. And yes high doses. It does wonders for me. Also because of the training.
But still my sleep has not been at it's best. Small kids ofcorse makes it tough too. Up to breastfeed, or get water, a bad dreams. You parents know the drill.
And then the falling asleep part. Takes me a while.
So now I'm doing a lot of things and I am sleeping way better.
1. A cup of tea while watching TV or blogging or what ever.
In my tea I put turmeric which has anti inflammatory purposes (curcumin)
I also put a pinch of chili and a spoon of honey.
Some research has found that honey helps you sleep.
2. Thrypthophan (5htp)
This is the one I do believe has changed a lot for me. I fall asleep faster now then I can ever remember. I don't wake up for little sounds
3. Magnesium I really prefer the natural calm powder, but here in Norway I can't buy it, unless I order it. So I use Life's brand magnesium and B6.
B6 helps absorb magnesium better
4. I put one earbud in. I know this sounds funny. But I put one in on the side that is not on the pillow when I fall asleep. Before kids I used to sleep with two. But now I kind of need to hear them. But this way I don't hear them turn, the cats bell,  the wind, or what ever small sound that could possibly wake me up for no reason.

I'm also trying to teach my self to sleep on my side instead of on my stomach. As I know that is bad for my neck and shoulders to lay with the head twisted to one side. But have to say this is a habbit that's hard to break.

Hoping to sleep good now after finally doing 20kg TGU. Untill not being able to anymore
KB❤️

Sleep good everyone. Sleep is very important for your mood, hormones and recovery.
I'm know I'm a better person when I get enough sleep

Wonderful mothers day

Started this day with a great sleep in then I got breakfast in bed. Thick cut bacon, eggs and fried onions.  And a rose big bouquet of roses.

Jonas was suppose to have a birthday party today but due to the bad stormy weather we desided to cancel and do it next weekend.

How ever we all went to the pool today
Then tante Tina and Jonas got to go see a movie
He sure loves his auntie

And I think she loves him too.

She put him to bed for us tonight so Eric and I got to go out for a movie date. It's been a really nice day.
I love my family!  I'm very lucky to have all of this

Good night

Self discipline or crazy?

Tacos.
Its one of the easiest foods to make when people eat different foods.

Tonight we made a good mix. Eric likes his taco spice mix, I don't want it as the first ingredient is sugar in disguise. Dextrose!
So I just made my own ground meat with different spices. Tina and Eric both like to eat it in taco shells. No gluten there but I'm also not the biggest fan of corn, so I use my dear lettuce wraps.
Picking my battles here.

My treat for the night
Tea and a cup of shredded coconut with honey.
If you are getting off candy and stuff like that, and want to try something new try this one. If you are still on lots of sugar I can almost for sure say that you will not find this sweet enough and think that I am completely crazy giving up yummy candy for this crazy shait
If you are eating clean you will find this almost over sweet.

I love it.

Sorry about the weird writing and placing of pictures, something is up with my technology tonight. And I am too tried to figure it out.

Good Night
